Ramadan, in Three Parts
Saturday, August 22, 2009 at 10:51AM This Ramadan, I have decided to blog thematically. The blog posts in the first 10 days of the month will, God willing, revolve around the theme of God’s Rahmah, mercy, grace, and compassion. The middle 10, God willing, will be about forgiveness and repentance. The last 9 or 10 days, God willing, will touch on themes of the Afterlife, heaven and hell and the Last Day.
There is a hadith out there suggesting that Ramadan itself is split in such a manner, but I have seen indications that the chain of the hadith's narration is weak, so I am not going to post it here. Regardless of whether the chain of the hadith's narration is weak or not, my plan for the month is to focus on those themes during the time periods indicated above. The blog will, of course, include textual analysis of ayahs chosen from the Quran, but it also will not be limited to textual analysis and, God willing, will include some personal anecdotes and observations from time to time. That will open up the possibility, God willing, for more frequent posts during this month. You can always skip the ones you find uninteresting.
I hope you will enjoy reading. Have a blessed Ramadan.
Part I is about rahmah. Click here for a prior post about rahmah and God’s amazing grace.
